Terms & Refund Policy

Thank you for choosing Learn Native Japanese! Please read these terms before booking a lesson or buying a product. By booking or purchasing, you agree to them.

1. Lessons and prices

All prices are in US dollars (USD).

  • Trial Lesson (25 min): $15. One per student.

  • Travel Role-Play (50 min): $70

  • Free Talk (25 min): $40 / (50 min): $55

  • Trip Ready Pack (5 × 50 min): $330

  • Trip Ready Pack (10 × 50 min): $650, including a free 1-day First-Time Japan Plan ($30 value)

  • Students who took a Trial Lesson get $10 off a Trip Ready Pack.

2. Booking

  • Please book through the booking calendar on this website.

  • Lessons must be booked at least 24 hours in advance.

  • Lesson times are shown in your own time zone.

3. Payment

  • Payment is made by PayPal at the time of booking.

  • Your booking is confirmed once payment is complete.

  • Please do not send payment by bank wire transfer.

4. Lesson format

  • All lessons are 1-on-1 on Google Meet.

  • You will receive the Google Meet link by email right after booking.

  • Please join on time. If you join late, the lesson will still end at the scheduled time.

  • Lessons are tailored to each student's level and goals.

  • Lessons are never recorded without both of our consent.

5. Rescheduling and cancellation by the student

  • 24 hours or more before the lesson: you may reschedule your lesson. Paid lessons are not refunded.

  • Less than 24 hours before the lesson: the lesson cannot be refunded or rescheduled.

  • No-show without notice: the lesson is counted as completed. No refund or reschedule.

6. Cancellation by the teacher

If I need to cancel or move a lesson, or if a lesson cannot take place because of a connection problem on my side, I will let you know as soon as possible, and you can choose either a full refund or a free reschedule. If the lesson is interrupted by a connection problem on your side, the lesson will still end at the scheduled time.

7. Refunds

Except for the cases in section 6, lesson fees are non-refundable once payment has been made.

8. Trip Ready Pack

  • You choose the dates for all lessons in the pack when you book.

  • 5-lesson pack: all lessons must be scheduled within 90 days of purchase. 10-lesson pack: within 180 days.

  • Lessons that are not taken within this period expire and are not refunded.

  • The same rescheduling rules (section 5) apply to each lesson in the pack.

  • The free 1-day travel plan in the 10-lesson pack must be used within 180 days of purchase and cannot be exchanged for cash.

9. Travel Plans

  • Prices: First-Time Japan Plan $30 per day / Hidden Japan Plan $55 per day (you can book from 1 day).

  • Each plan includes a 30-minute planning session on Google Meet, a day-by-day itinerary (PDF) and useful Japanese phrases for each place.

  • I create the itinerary only. All bookings (hotels, trains, tickets, restaurants) are made by you.

  • When you book, you pay for the first day. If your plan is 2 days or more, I will send you a PayPal invoice for the remaining days, which must be paid before our session.

  • Your itinerary will be sent by email within 7 days after our Google Meet session.

  • Once the planning session has taken place, travel plans are non-refundable.

10. Digital products (guides and PDFs)

  • Digital products are available to download right after purchase.

  • Because of their nature, digital products are non-refundable once purchased. If a file is damaged or cannot be opened, please contact me and I will send a new one.

  • Digital products are for personal use only. Please do not share, copy or resell them.

11. Respectful communication

To keep lessons safe and comfortable:

  • Please contact me by email only. I do not accept personal messages on other apps or phone calls.

  • If a student asks for personal contact details, makes romantic or personal requests unrelated to learning, or behaves in a rude or inappropriate way, I may end the lesson immediately.

  • In that case, the lesson fee will not be refunded, and no further bookings will be accepted.

12. Changes to these terms

I may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page at the time of your booking applies.
