Learn Native Japanese ("I", "me") is run by Shiori Amano, an individual business based in Japan. This policy explains what personal information I collect, how I use it, and how I keep it safe. I follow Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI).
1. Information I collect
Contact form: your name, email address and message.
Free guide and newsletter: your first name (if given) and email address.
Lesson and travel plan bookings: your name, email address, time zone, and any details you share about your level, goals or trip.
Payments: payments are processed by PayPal. I receive your name, email and payment status, but I never see or store your card or bank details.
Lessons: notes about your progress so I can plan your next lesson.
Website use: basic, anonymous data such as pages visited and device type, collected through cookies by my website provider.

To send you the free guide and my email tips (only if you signed up)
To manage bookings, payments and lessons
To send lesson links, reminders, lesson notes and itineraries
To improve my website and lessons I do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
3. Services I use
To run this website and my lessons, I use the following services. Your information may be stored by them, including on servers outside Japan (for example, in the United States):
Squarespace (website and contact form)
Kit (email list and free guide)
【Calendly / TidyCal】 (booking calendar)
PayPal (payments)
Google (Google Meet and Gmail) Each service handles your data under its own privacy policy.
4. Emails
If you sign up for the free guide, you will also receive my travel Japanese tips by email. You can unsubscribe anytime using the link at the bottom of every email.
5. Recording
Lessons are never recorded without both of our consent.
6. How long I keep your information
I keep your information only as long as needed for the purposes above, or as required by law (for example, payment records for tax purposes). When it is no longer needed, I delete it.
7. Keeping your information safe
I use secure, password-protected accounts and limit access to your information to myself only.
8. Your rights
You can ask me to show, correct, stop using or delete your personal information. Please email me and I will reply as soon as possible.
9. Children
If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian before booking a lesson or sharing your information.
10. Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
